NRCS TSP Recruitment and Retention Program (NRCS TSP R2 PROGRAM)
Get paid to become a NRCS Technical Service Provider or retain your TSP status
We are partnering with CT DEEP Division of Forestry and the NRCS to offer a series of trainings for workforce development, specializing in the recruitment and retention of NRCS Technical Service Providers (TSPs) for engaging rural private woodland owners in resilient forestry. This program offers 3 full rounds of trainings, yearly through 2029. Participants may choose to spread their attendance across multiple years or retake trainings in subsequent years if funding allows.
A TSP provides technical assistance to landowners on behalf of the NRCS. A TSP works for the woodland owner to offer forest management planning and implementation services that meet NRCS criteria.
Who is this training for?
This training is for CT Certified Foresters who would like to retain their TSP status or who want to become a TSP (i.e., a TSP recruit).

2025 participation is limited to 20 spots per session. An additional 5 spots will be held on a waitlist.
Registration Deadlines:
TSP TRAINING, PART 1-PROGAM INTRODUCTION: Required registration by November 1, 2025.
TSP TRAINING, PART 2-NRCS REGISTRY SIGNUP: Required registration by November 1, 2025.
TSP ORIENTATION & CONSERVATION PLANNING TRAINING: Registration opens in November, and it is required by January 2nd 2026.
